HOW TO CONNECT A MICROPHONE

TO HOME THEATER

If you have all the right tech, connecting a microphone to your home theater is really quite simple.  Keep reading as I will discuss each step here!

1

Turn off your system before starting. Connecting a microphone to live speakers can make some interesting, and often horrible, noises.

2

Plug the microphone into the “mic in” input on your AV receiver.

3

Providing everything is plugged in and looks correct, turn your system back on and try talking into the microphone.

4

Most AV receivers don’t have built-in audio equalizing for microphones, so you might need to adjust it separately from the master volume.

5

If you’re happy with everything, then you’re done! Enjoy your karaoke session.

How to Connect a Microphone without the Right Input

One of the easiest is to buy a small microphone mixer or audio interface that connects the microphone to your AV receiver using RCA or digital audio, just like any other device.
